Heading to Sukute Beach for Rafting!!
Yet another early day. We are walking to a location through the streets of Thamel to commence the escapade of rafting. In total we are 13 travellers from all over the world who will spend the next two days rafting the Bhote Kosi River. A three hour bus trip out along the myriad of sites of Kathmandu and surrounding countryside now delivers us to our new home of tents at Sukute Beach. Lunch and a rapid safety instruction discussion with rafting /naval commands are all it takes for us to be ready to hit the white water. A fabulous 3 hours is spent navigating Class 3 rapids. No one goes overboard, the sun is sparkling off the water, the sky is forever blue and a good time enjoyed by all. No goraks in sight.
Exhausted yet again, we have a BBQ dinner and retire to our tents which are located on the shoreline of the Bhote Kosi.
